Our Story

Award winning Canadian coffee roaster, Barocco Coffee Company, has partnered with Nino D’Aversa Bakery to bring the best of specialty coffee and Italian cuisine to the storied College Street corridor with their unique offering, Barocco X Nino. Opening just months before the 2020 global pandemic, this little gem as evolved into a treasured stop along this promenade loyally supported by the local community.

A full coffee bar experience offers both specialty and traditional fresh roasted coffees, perfectly complimented with an array of pastries and biscotti from some of the city’s best artisans. Croissants, scones and cookies are fresh baked on site daily. Barocco X Nino’s chef prepares a seasonal menu with the star of the show being the authentic Roman style “pizza a taglio”, considered one of Toronto’s best with a short list of sandwiches, salads and fresh pastas rounding out the offering. A gourmet selection of prepared foods such as homemade soups, sauces, pickled vegetables, salumi and more to bring the Italian food experience to your home.

The team has curated an extensive retail offering that includes a wide range of coffee gear and artisanal goods, including chocolates, panettone, Sicilian extra virgin olive oil, artisanal dried pastas, and decadent chocolate hazelnut spreads. It is a true Italian “Alimentari” that features both imported and locally produced gourmet gems.

Located in Toronto’s Dufferin Grove neighbourhood, Barocco X Nino is at 974 College Street. Hours of operation are as follows: 8am-5pm – Monday through Sunday.
